It's not to win. But it's for the Wins:
It's for the competition, against others and yourself. Even when you don't win, competing sharpens and disciplines you.
It's for the friends. All the best ones I've already got, and the new ones you make. Laying in the grass and chatting together.
It's for the pain, the suffering, and the discomfort. It's because racing isn't easy, and so much in our lives is too easy.
It's for that rare moment every so often, when it all comes together and there is equilibrium between exertion and reward, where every effort returns the favor.
It's because it calms me down, gives me piece of mind and brings out the best in me. And that's good.
That's what's important, that's what I came here for this week. And it's been good.
We're all winning this week!
